Picking up the keys to our new house today...super excited!

Although it has a lot of storage (detached double garage) I want to put a shed in the garden, or more to the point a bicycle storage/workshop/mancave unit. We've got 6 bikes, and I'd like to be able to store them easily, have a bench and workstand permanently set up, some shelving for storing parts etc, and ideally a space for a turbo trainer/Zwift setup too. I suspect it will need to be quite big, probably around 20x10.

I'm happy to buy a basic-ish tongue and groove building, and then convert it for my own use. I'd probably get some insulation on the walls and then either ply line or plasterboard it to make internal walls, get some rubber flooring down, and perhaps fit a "proper" opening double glazed window and a proper door, and obviously get some power in there too.

I'm looking for recommendations of suppliers for the basic workshop building that will provide a solid base for my own requirements. I don't want to spend an absolute fortune, but I do need something that isn't going to fall apart in a few years, and I also need to look fairly attractive too. This will probably sit at one side of a large patio area and may also form one end of either a pergola structure, or a "sail" sunshade arrangement.

Project Timber come up a lot, but they do seem to have some awful reviews (although I take any reviews with a pinch of salt)

Any experiences?

Thanks for the replies all.

I think something like this (or another one from their website) looks pretty good. Thinking harder about this, it really does not have to be top grade...proper "workshop" stuff will be done in the garage, this really might just be glorified bike storage...with the odd twiddling of gears etc happening in there. This still looks fairly easy to insulate/line and customise if I want to though when time allows. Thoughts?

From that site, it seems it might breach permitted development rules without planning permissions?

"Ridge height from – 2648mm to 2956mm"

Also, I'm assuming the existing house garden etc is big enough so you don't breach the 50% of total area around the original house? 20x10m is pretty big smile

I think I'm OK on this. It will be more than 2m from the boundary, so could be up to 4m if it's a dual pitched roof. Oops, I meant 20'x10' not 20mx10m!
