Morning

I've been quoted £1900 for eleven lap fence panels with concrete posts and gravel boards.
The labour is £150 per man day for two people and estimated at 2-3 days.
This is in the West Midlands.

I was thinking more along £1200??

We've had another online quote of £1670 for the work plus relatives had 8 closeboard panels installed in Brighton for around £1400 recently so I do think it's on the high side.

Avoid concrete posts. They’re crap. The panels will most probably flap in the breeze.
Everyone but me seems to like concrete posts where I live. And on a windy day all you hear is the clonking of the fence panels in the posts. frown
We have concrete posts on the other side and they do move about. It just seems less bother to swap a new panel in after they’re blown down. I usually insert a wedge in to stop them rattling.

Fencing contractor - Cambridgeshire…

Current times expect £130/150 per fitted panel. Two blokes should breeze it in a day if straightforward. Out of interest is it a fencing contractor, or property maintenance type chap?
It’s a property maintenance type person who’s done a bit of work for us before - including decking.
He’s usually quite reasonable (18 sqm of decking was £800 in June 2020) and the quality of his work is very good.
We’ve pushed it back until next year as the existing fence is still standing albeit not very straight.
