Abbey Pynford have offices from Blackpool down to Reigate. I'd highly recommend them.

What kind of foundations were used? Im guessing either strip or raft foundation.
They are a cast slab ( video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_UFSjWmMHF0 )

On piles ( video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WdX704RX88 )

The piles were necessary as we're on the edge of fenland marshes that have been drained. The slab system gave us a reliable level deck to build off.

Joking aside...where is the DPM going?
Im guessing once they have made progress with the external wall wink

Are you talking about the DPC or the DPM? wink
I expect the DPC went in as the sole plates were fitted.
The DPM, insulation, under floor heating and final screed will go in room by room at some later date and need not be done until the building is up and sealed.

Steve
Steve has it. DPC went in as a sheet stuck to the underside of the sole plate timbers. DPM (polythene sheet by any other name) will be laid in each room and lapped up the walls to meet the DPC. We'll have 120mm insulation laid on top of that, more sheeting to hold the screed, then underfloor heating (water pipe) and screed go on top.

I hate that 'Compare the Meerkat' advert. Every time I explain a build sequence I want to end by saying 'Simples'.

Just bumping this to link up the latest video: http://bit.ly/4tSKDN

Took a bit of time to process, but there's the roof going on. From bare foundations to roof on took a team of three men 15 days. Not bad going.
