What's the best method of stopping cats crapping in my front garden?
I have tried heavy weed killer in the hope the smell puts them off, but the rain washes it off...I don't think it worked anyway.
Any suggestions..Is there an 'anti cat-crap' spray I can use?
& no, I can't sit in my garden, on a swivel chair with a shotgun...J Carrot style.

A few things that help. Cats go back to the same area so you need to get rid of the poo and the smell, coffee grounds are pretty good for that job.
Slug pellets also work quite well as a general deterrent don't know why they work but we use them on the gravel areas very successfully. HTH

If you're not in a hosepipe ban area get a Scarecrow, they're fantastic. PIR activated sprinkler that hoses anything that comes in to the garden. Admittedly it got the Girlfiend and I more times I saw it get cats, but it completely stopped the little sods stting all voer our lawn last year. Unfortunatly I won't be able to use it this year
We purchased a dog. Okay it's different $h!t that you have to pick up in a bag but there is less of it and you know when it is going to happen. I loved watching our dog chase the cats out of the garden to the point that they dont even bother venturing in anymore. Obviously not an ideal solution. Lions droppings work to a point but it did not deter the cats for very long. I absolutely detest cats. They $hit on everyone elses doorstep but their own. Sorry OP Dog or catapult.
- Disclaimer I am not advocating the use of a catapult against cats or anything else living**
Lounge answer: Landmines.

No! Not one of those! Not unless you want your neighbours to hate you! Some old git on our road has one of these. Inaudible to the human ear my arse!!! Everytime I walk past the sodding thing on the way to the station, I get blasted with a skull-piercing shriek! I thought hearing sensitivity was supposed to drop off with age, but I can still hear the fker perfectly at the age of 41!
Of course, my neighbour can be pretty reassured that I won't crap in his garden, but then I never particularly intended to do that in the first place.

OP I'd go with one of these.
Edit: not that one though. Battery powered my arse. Get one that plugs in.

They do work well on cats. I can't hear my mothers (she has about 10 of them it seems. The garden is birds only!), and I couldn't hear them in my youth either. I suspect you neighbour has a defective one.

I don't know if it works on cats, but it certainly works on me and small children! My wife, however, is oblivious to it.OP I'd go with one of these.

Haha, that's a "real" website, I thought it was going to be a dead link as you had just changed the name but there is a genuine site. OK not genuine in the sense they will buy any cat but you know what I mean.I heard that cats don't like many "strong" smells, citrus being one of them, so you could try spreading the peel from a lemon in the areas where they are crapping? Haven't tried it myself but it might be worth a go.
Kleenezie do a product. I have used diluted ammonia. In rear garden used a hose with an inside tap. Now ,cats get heart attack when a 11.5Kg bundle of fury comes charging out of door ,intent on presenting us with furry slippers. He tells us when they're around, and he even terrorises them from the car . ( On a jovial theme, you could get some humane traps ,catch cat ,and transport to near a farm .)
The problem with cats is that although their crap can carry the toxicaris bug, those that shout hardest are cat lovers. If it could be proved that some kid lost it's eyesight from contact with cap poo, then something might get done . ( But possibly only if the cat was exceeding the speed limit at the time )

Two types of toxocara roundworms, canis(dogs & foxes) and cati(cats) so don't forget to get your dogs & cats wormed regularly.
