Earlier this week I saw my first live, close-up Weasel; perhaps the coolest little beast that I've ever had the priviledge of setting eyes on.

It ran about with that 'Loch Ness Monster' otterlike wave, spotted me and froze before sneaking out of my sight, only to peek around the corner a couple of minutes later to see whether I was still there.

Wonderful.

Unfortunately it was in our bedroom at the time, having been brought in by one of the cats in the small hours of the morning...once the cat let it go it swore loudly and scampered off.

Sooo...a Longman trap baited with mince and catfood hasn't tempted it, and I can't imagine it's made it out of the house: any suggestions as to what might make better bait? Or do we just hope that it lives out it's natural lifespan on the back of whatever it can find in the kitchen - which is a fair bit, the children are messy eaters.

Still no sign, so fingers crossed it's found its way out.

Definately not a woozle - Pooh reports no fur missing from his legs.
