He's a 10 month old rotty and already weighs 8 stone. He's also as daft as a brush

Lovely. Looking at that pic has brightened my day. You should put a couple more pics without the 'Robo-Dog' eyes.

In my experience they are very good natured dogs.

My favourite breed. Hoping to get one next year. I wanted to rehome one, but the centre are reluctant because I live alone and work full time, even though ill be having a dog walker in during the day.

Oh and more pics!!
Going to get some more pics during the day when I'm off work so he doesnt have the flash reflection in his eyes

You want to get your ears sorted and put your tongue away then... biggrin

But yes, a few more pics would be nice. So many Rotties are such soft mutts it amazes me how they ever got a "nasty" reputation.
I'll get him out in the garden when I finish work this afternoon

I am certain that thin blue piece of string will be adequate to hold him back if a cat or something saunters past.....
He hasn't pulled on the string yet its just a precaution as if he gets out he might not know his way back yet, and his previous owner had 2 cats and a baby. They moved to a smaller house so he had to go.

See that? That's how daft your Rottie is! wink

Joking apart, a beautiful hound and great to see one with a tail smile

You can tell how old a rotty is by that, any younger than 2 have tails (the law changed)

Rottie, Boxer, Doberman, whatever, they all look better with a tail smile doesn't stop them being daft as aholes but at least they are better proportioned with a tail laugh
That's one good thing about daft dog, at least he doesn't chase his tail because if he caught it with his teeth it might hurtbiggrin

Has he naturally started guarding the house yet? Barking when someone is at the door etc?
No he doesn't bark much just one bark when i open the door until he realises who it is. Probably a different story if it wasn't me or the wife though.

Looking for a Discovery for him now so that I can take Jim for walks further afield, no way he's getting in the Audi because of the red leather. Put in autotrader up to 2k and up to 100 miles from my postcode, 25 results to look at for the new dog vanbiggrin. I'll let you know how I get on

Ideal dog carrier.
I knew a bloke who had to turn his discovery into a 2 seater to carry his Great Danes. Bloody enormous beasts, they were.
A lot of the discos in the adds have 7 leather seats and circa 100000 miles in 15 years which is very low mileage

Get a passat estate. He will get in the back comfortably - my newfie did.
Is the OP planning to head deep into the woods, dales, etc? I should think that is where the Disco comes into it's own.
Yes planning to take him up some of the local fella in the lake district, drive to the end of the tracks then walkthumbup
