Do dogs not understand farts?

My elderly old grey has just wandered into the living room and let rip, obliviously. Then looks round with the wonderful confused ears askew look only a dog can do then wandered over for a fuss trailing a putrid green cloud of chemical warfare behind.

Being a bloke i find this hilarious. Don't half stink though.
