My Old sausage dog isn’t right

He is approx 15, (we adopted) and stinks, is blind in 1 eye and eats, farts and sleeps a lot. But we love him.
Not
Been right for a couple of days, gagging after waking, eating and drinking.
Now his breathing is very laboured and he doesn’t want to move from his bed, not even for food.
Looks like a trip to the vet tonight, which I dread but not having him suffer.
Just wondered if any sausage dog owners had similar things with older dogs of the breed.

I am so sorry to read your faithful friend is ailing. I would say he is struggling just from being an older dog rather than anything specific to his breed but I doubt this is of much comfort to you right now

Sadly Fudge has not returned home from the vets with us tonight

We are devastated, but it was the right thing to do.

Really sorry Chilli. It's an awful time. Couple of years since I last had to face it, but two friends have lost really lovely dogs this year. Thoughts are with you all.
