We have an elderly dog with arthritis and I’ve found an American company that sells hemp based products for the relief of arthritis and pain in dogs and cats.
Although they are willing to ship items to me I am unable to find out if it would be illegal to import such products into the UK even though they are for animals.
Any help would be welcome.

Thanks for the replies.
I’ve already tried turmeric golden paste and didn’t see much improvement.
He’s currently on metacam and having fairly frequent urine tests as the vet says it’s use could lead to kidney problems hence my interest in the hemp products.

Thanks for all your replies.
To import a 10 day supply of CBD oil capsules (sometimes called hemp oil) from the USA is £47 (inc shipping). I suspect there could be vat and import duty on top of that.
Given that there’s a chance that it may be impounded I’ve decided not to go down that route.
I haven’t heard of Cartrophen before so I’ll go and have a word with our local vet.
