Anyone got any experience of this?

Our Hamish who has been through the wars recently after getting burnt on his back and having a couple of repair ops has now been having seizures:-(

Vet pretty certain he has developed epilepsy he’s 3 yo and it’s just come out of the blue(I think)

We had him at the vet last week as I thought he was sick and he also peed himself but a couple of episodes over the weekend it turns out he was slavering and not throwing up.

It’s a pretty horrible thing to watch but it’s got worse the last 24 hours with him having 7 seizures over night and today he seems to find a different spot to do it as he is peeing at the same time.

Vet has put him on meds today as blood test didn’t show up anything if it gets worse he’s to go back and get an MRI.

Sorry it’s a bit of a ramble but I’m pretty worried about him.

Thanks will look into that also.

He’s had another couple overnight, it’s the peeing that stressing us all out just now.

Feel really sad for him he’s just not our Hamish at the moment.

Can’t believe I’m writing this but on Wednesday Hamish disappeared.

We were keeping him most of the time to keep an eye on him but he was venturing out into the garden for some sun and sleep every now and again as he was such an outdoor cat we felt it was good for him to get out when he wanted to.

We discovered late on Wednesday he hadn’t reappeared so spent the night looking for him and for hours every day since.

I believe he’s gone off and died somewhere maybe he knew it was going to happen but it appears there was more to his seizures than first thought.

I still have a little bit of hope he will come home but just really want to know either way we’re he is.

Devastated is an understatement.

I am welling up reading this.

One of ours disappeared for six days once, so I hope he does come home.

Good luck.
We have him home!

He was found over 3 miles away after someone noticed him having a seizure, he was picked up by the SSPCA and taken to the PDSA thankfully a nurse had seen the Facebook post and recognised him his chip is not registering.

He is a very ill cat so not sure how it’s going to work out for him he’s had another pretty bad seizure when home but we have him home giving him lots of love and will do what’s best for him.

Just read he went missing frown. So glad you have him back but sorry he is so ill. When is he going back to your vet? He really needs more investigation if you can and quickly as he seems to be getting worse quickly. I really hope they find some way to treat him. What medication is he on at the mo?
At 3.30am Hamish headed over rainbow bridge.

He was having a seizure every hour It was heartbreaking watching him like that so we took him to the emergency vets to do the right thing by him.

How he survived the few days on his own having that many episodes I don’t know but he was an amazing cat.

Gutted but happy I got to hold him for a last time and be able to say a proper goodbye.

You are a legend Hamish.

Thanks for all the messages it’s very much appreciated.

Been a tough day. It’s been nice hearing about what he got up to when we spoke to local people during the search turns out he was an accomplished house breaker with many comments that he was often inviting himself in! A couple round the corner often found him(and our other cat Max)munching their own cats food when they came down in the morning.
