I’m without a dog at the moment too and will be getting two in the new year if things go according to plan.
I’m going to get mine from a rescue place and a Dachshund is high on the want list for one of the two. Little dogs with bags of personality, what’s not to like?
They can't get on the sofa, go upstairs or do big poos. So not much. That's not to say I will cave in and get one, but they have a lot going for them.I’m going to get mine from a rescue place and a Dachshund is high on the want list for one of the two. Little dogs with bags of personality, what’s not to like?

Not much, when they look like this working "teckel"I’m going to get mine from a rescue place and a Dachshund is high on the want list for one of the two. Little dogs with bags of personality, what’s not to like?
but (IMO, of course) quite a lot when they have the show dogs' exaggerated long back and short leg proportions
