dog has a muscle injury - secondary survey can feel the muscle in question; no other signs or symptoms whatsoever. she is a Lurcher so will sometimes go to extraordinary lengths attempting to catch up with a squirrel. vet prescribed the real bare minimum of anti inflam drugs for her suggesting i went back for another consultation and more end of week. vet won't prescribe more anti-imflams which has disappointed me so am interested what other nsaids i can acquire to keep her going for another few days whilst it properly heals.

useful to know ty.

I would happily go back to vet but they are saying next step for my dog is an x-ray; we had an interesting debate where I challenged their suggestion that as we both arrived at the same conclusion after a secondary survey, it was clearly muscular/tendon/ligament and x-ray wouldn't help much, so why do one.

the nsaids she was given obviously helped but a few more would have helped her situation more. and yep, digestive function is fully working with no contra indications for her.

Do some x rays show muscles? I thought they could do some of that?
MRI would show soft tissue; x-rays show bones as a rule
