Am I imagining it, or did someone on here say they were looking for a Shiba Inu but didn't want to pay the silly prices being asked at the moment?

If I didn't imagine it rolleyes this may be of interest:

That's a shame. We've adopted two dogs from them, and my parents adopted from them too.

They are always very busy, though, and I think they are operating on a skeleton staff at the moment.

Am still looking for a Shiba but apart from some breeders locally asking extortionate amounts there's nothing in rescue, or at least not advertised. Although some prices are still coming down and did see dogs of another breed from a breeder get dumped at a rescue as they couldn't sell them. Perhaps the breeding bubble has burst now everyone is back to work. I never stopped work but do a combo of in work and WFH. Days I'm not home, Dad will be there or when it gets a bit older, staying with him. I want to get a dog as not only do I want one but I think it will do the old man good too. Already done quite a bit of research, asked dog owners general costs, how to socialise, etc. Some good day cares near me which are apparently good to help socialise. In terms of when to get one it's as ideal as it's going to be.
Just curious, but can I ask why you're so set on a Shiba Inu? This is the only one I've ever seen in rescue, and I look at rescue websites a lot(!) KC stats suggest there aren't huge numbers being bred.

What is that attracts you to this breed in particular? Not trying to be confrontational or judgmental, genuinely curious....
