yes beautiful bird but effing noisy!
It's the first time i've noticed them. We live directly opposite some woods so guessing they are commuting from there then taking the noise back biggrin

They are a particularly handsome Garden Bird, and not one that visits my garden sadly.
It looks like I'm lucky to be so close to some woods.

These are my usual birds of choice but I think I'm enjoying my little feathered buddies just as much !

^ Undisputed king of the bird table.
Haha yeah I’ve heard them in the woods but never seen one. It was feeding from the peanut feeder that’s only been up a day or so. I’ll see if I can get a pic if it comes again trouble is they only stay for a few seconds.

Saw a lovely little bird in the front garden this morning that I've never seen before although they seem to be all over the UK. It had a yellow/orange cap (it was cold!), and I've managed to identify it as a Goldcrest.
Yes they are superb colours. I had never seen one in our garden before until we put this feeder up a couple of months ago.

They like conifers aren't at all shy. I've seen them in yews at churchyards a few times.
We have a Holly Tree that has always been very, very popular. God knows how many birds there are in it but on occasion they will be making such a racket and for some reason all go totally silent for a few seconds and then start up again !

Lots of birds seem to use it as a staging point to fly to the feeder.

I've had loads of goldfinches, up to 12 at one time, but never a Goldcrest. I thought the wren was our smallest bird but it seems the Goldcrest beats it. Apparently they rarely visit bird tables and prefer gound feeding for insects.
Interesting never even heard of a Goldcrest ! I think I need to order myself a book. Looks like it has a little Mohican.

You've got Bullfinch in the list above, have you seen it twice now? :P
Haha ! No this is def the first time ! I was only an amateur bird spotter then ! First time it was probably a Magpie !

I’ll keep the cam outside and see if I can get a pic.
