Following on from our sad news on the weekend I am now planning on a couple of kittens in a few weeks time once the hurt has subsided. Our remaining cat Truffle is just under 2 years old and I don't like the thought of her waiting months before she has some company. I think she is aware of the absence now, she appears to be looking about subtly, and almost surprised when it is only her at the food station.

This will be he 3rd kitten purchase in 2 years more or less so I feel like I am well versed. I want 2, to give us a total of 3. Initially we thought about getting siblings, but apparently this may not be such a good idea with an existing cat? So that leads me onto buying 2 seperate cats at different time intervals that are not related.

Truffle is a female, very laid back, so my intention is to get a male kitten, then a female kitten later on. I haven ever had a male cat before, is there anything I should be aware of?

We have integrated cats numerous times before at varying ages and levels, all successfully, so I am fairly confident about this but equally welcome any advice on the subject. The kitten usually stays in our bedroom with cage and litter tray until ready to venture out into the house. The bedroom then remains the safe space / recognised area etc
