Bengal Kittens - talk to me
Discussion
I plan to buy a Bengal kitten in the next 6 weeks or so. Been looking on the pets4home website and there seem to be lots of them out there, the prices seem to vary hugely (why is this?).
At this stage I notice they all seem to have had the jabs etc and are ready to go, I want one with good pattern and from somewhere within reasonable range of SW London.
What do I need to know about these wonderful little beasts?

Right, thanks guys.
Reason I wanted a kitten is that it will be house bound at first and I will supervise it in the garden, reason being, I live in a large first floor flat. However we won't be here forever and the next move will have the cat in mind.
Regarding noise, that is fine by me, I'd like to see it wake me with earplugs
Cost wise, that's more than I have seen, but I take your point about pedigree.
We are thinking that brown spotted is the best option, but I still like the white
Ones! I've been on bengallist.co.uk and it seems to be good. Anywhere else you can suggest? We would like one before march.

On Reccomendation I went to see typha bengals. It's fair to say what the chap didn't know about bengals wasn't worth knowing. He started bengals properly in the uk 20 years ago, has more grand champions than you can shake a stick at and generally had some of the most vivid amazingly patterned cats we'd ever seen.
We will be getting a boy hopefully early march. He assures us that this litter will all be show qaulity in terms of coat! Very excited!
No hard sell at all, quite the opposite, and it really is nice to meet someone with passion.

Ended up saying yes to two bengals, 6 months old, a marble and a rossett. Male and female from same litter.
Was thinking about two boys from a new litter, they were amazing to be honest, but they were out of my budget really, and we've ended up getting two awesome cats that are 4 months older for the price of 1 of the new borns. Pick them up next weekend we hope.
Recommend typha bengals

Our two will be inside cats for now, untill I work out how they get from the 1st floor to the ground
However there are lots of bengals around here, so I'm not too worried.
Went and bought all the kit tonight, very excited for the little buggers now
The marble has the most amazing coat, I'll get pics up asap.

Beautiful-lovely markings.Any names yet?
That one is called Amber. And the marble I think we are actually calling marble
They are still a little wary of me when I walk into their room but they soon settle down, they let me stroke them and start purring etc, I guess it comes with time.
Can't wait for them to have run of the place.
Yours look lovely blue.
Well they've come on leaps an bounds in only a couple of days, at first they were hiding all the time, earlier I had them playing with some toys, and the girl was trying to get her head in the bowl while I was preparing their food.
They briefly ventured up the stairs from the kitchen to the living room then retreated
Yes they're brother and sister, although the girl seems to be in a mood with him for some reason !

Great.
Another addition to the (sadly) huge number of pet-owners who acquire an animal on the basis of its looks or supposed traits with little or no understanding of its needs in practice.

I've got two and they live indoors too, in a flat, they're happy, they don't trash things, and they're great fun. Loads of them in Surbiton who go out and about, I've not seen any missing signs for bengals, all tabby cats.
I've known more cats run over when I lived in 30 acres in the middle of nowhere than now in suburban London.
