SO any highlights or things to avoid? Bearing in mind I'm not into pub culture!! Going as a group of 4 on a long weekend break - 2 of us like snapping (photos) whereas the others are Antipodean and like drinking
Also just rang a hotel to un-cancel 2 rooms that I cancelled last night (but didn't get a confirmation of cancellation so assumed it was still on!). They tell my fellow Antipodean that 'it's all booked up' and they would have to stay at a more expensive sister hotel. I ring up and do my 'business traveller thing' (i.e. many years experience in getting ripped of) and amazingly the rooms are all available. Now i'm not stereotyping but ..

it's bloody cold & even more bloody expensive!
Well at least i'll appreciate London even more when I get back. I won't be doing another 'Euro' holiday for ages so this will at least fill that gap. Re: Temple Bar - will give it a wide berth!Edited by fido on Wednesday 12th November 14:09
Well it was an 'interesting' place to visit! The weather was surprisingly better than expected - warmer than London (brrr...) and I managed to take in all the sights (state rooms are worth a visit). One of the highlights was watching some 3.14keys trying to rob a bus during a driver change - not sure if it's the huge austerity cuts but there wasn't a police car in sight anywhere. The factory (as described above) was a bit overrated albeit compulsory I suppose.
