Im going to phuket
Looking for some must see things? Patong market, temple's?
Does anyone know a rough price guide for taxis. I'm a little out the way and I don't want to get bummed by the cost of taxis.
Say a 20km trip?
Any other things I need to know?

Good, as I say Phuket is what you make it, if you want seedy you can find it easy, but you can avoid it and have a good time, Look at going further S and East, beyond Krabbie and down to Trang is nice but you need to drive, you wont see a European.
I absolutely loved it last time.A good mixture of being able to relax on the beach for a few days and the right amount of culture.
I have booked a scooter for a week and a few tours with the same chap I used last time.
Staying here - http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g297930-...
Its all inclusive but I find it more handy for the odd beer and meal here and there. To be honest I could't have done it much cheaper if I purchased separate so this suits us nicely.

Flying with thomson so straight there on the dreamliner.
I have extra legroom but a not hoping for much.
Good luck. I'm sure you'll get more than we had, it was ridiculous. Staff didn't insist on upright seats for meals and when people complained there was no room for their food tray just shrugged their shoulders!I have extra legroom but a not hoping for much.

Do a boat trip to phang nga, James Bond island. Phi Phi Islands. All worth visiting but crowded with tourists.
Visit the temples, Big bhudda. You can try moto cross if that is your thing there too. Night Markets in phuket old town on a saturday/Sunday.
Cars can be had for about £30 for the day with a guide.
If you can, charter a helicopter. The most amazing thing I have ever done.
Where are you planning on staying.

Timely thread.....
We're (wife plus 14 & 11yr old) visiting Phucket + Khaolak in April next year for the 1st time, one week in each with 2 days in Khao Sok National park trekking rafting, etc.
All other trips we're planning to book when there, apparently there's more choice and it's cheaper. Any good suggestions for trips / days out? (diving is also on the agenda)
