Anybody have any advice on what is good to do? The OH and I are heading to Lewes fireworks festival and then onto Hayling Island for one night. All thoughts appreciated.

The thing is we are at the Lewes fireworks festival which will be pretty busy so we are just looking for somewhere quiet near the coast and near a quiet beach to relax and unwind just for one night. Sorry I should have been more specific.

Surely there must be a nice quiet pub somewhere for some grub and a bottle of plonk?

Yes Lewes A26/27 for the Lewes Fireworks celebration. Has anyone ever been?

Gulp slightly worried about H/I now. Might have to take a bottle of plonk and a dvd with us in that case. Surely the beach must be ok to walk along for a nice afternoon stroll?

Indeed, we were looking to organise a mini break along the south coast area.

Hmmm we have booked it on Air Bnb already. Surely it can't be that bad for one night. Worse case we can drive to pub a nice 1hr away for dinner and come and retreat at this lovely place..

Good excuse for another 1hr punt in the R8 too smile

We are off to Lewes for one night (staying off the high street for the festival) and then spending a night in H/I the day after.

We have booked already. Will have to find a nice pub for dinner somewhere on the Island. Judging from the comments Im glad we didn't check in for more than 1 night now!

ha ha surely the beautiful sea can't be that bad?!! You want to try living under the Heathrow flight path for a few months... Im hoping even a city bum like me will appreciate the quiet of H/I for one night.

Anyone with some good dinner suggestions seeing as its apparently not a Michelin Starr destination from all the feedback? biggrin

Lovely, will try some of those places. Im determined to give it a go now and stay in the g-boutique hotel the night after to drown my apparent sorrows from H/I!
