Tivat Airport (Montenegro)

Hi all,

Has anyone flown into / out of Tivat airport in Montenegro?
We're looking at going to Montenegro, but have heard some bad stories about departing from Tivat airport (huge queues at check-in / passport control etc....).
The other option would be to fly into and out of Dubrovnik and drive.....just after opinions really.

Dubrovnic airport will mean crossing the border into Montenegro. Horrendous ques southbound when we did so a few weeks back. You'll also have to look at the overall best deal and fork out for a green card insurance if you're hiring a car in Croatia to take over the border.

Worth it though - lovely country. The Kotor Bay area and the mountain region behind Herceg Novi are stunning

Maybe a bit late but...

I flew in and out via Podgorica, very quiet airport, and quite a nice drive from there to Tivat/Kotor area.

Some car hire companies may be funny about you taking a car over a national border.
