Morning all, I know this subject has been covered several times in here, but I've been quoted £400 for 2 days in a Camaro (48 hours) for a weekend in later in the year. Seems very expensive compared to what I've read, but I'm still very nervous about using Turo or ending up with a Sebring with Alamo!

Anyone know if that price is about the ballpark these days, and if the price they quote is a final price (inc insurance and taxes etc)? Also, is it worth joining the loyalty scheme if I'm only likely to use it once a year?

Thanks smile

Thanks all, some very useful information there!

Adenauer, did you specifically book a Camaro RS or was it one of those 'or similar' classes?

Can I ask what makes you nervous about Turo?

Only reason I mention it is because I was able to rent a Corvette for $80 per day in Miami over new year. Waaaay cheaper than what the Hertz collection were offering...
Sorry, should have come back and replied sooner. There doesn't seem to be any regulation on the standard of maintenance of the car and I couldn't see any written confirmation of the exact levels of liability the renter signs up to.

In the end I managed to tweak the pickup locations and drop-off times and get it down to just over £300 for the two days, so I went for it. Camaro SS convertible. Slightly excited now!!

You sure it’s a SS ? They don’t normally let brits have them. I have rented through Amex and because I have maybe 10 times ,they allow me. In fact I have one in four weeks time, and again for Xmas. £1000 for four weeks each time, through Amex no need for any insurance, they cover me.
If you have a ss ,good on you.
Yes because Hertz have the adrenaline collection where you book the exact make and model of car. Obviously you pay a premium for the privilege but I didn’t want to book a Mustang convertible ‘or equivalent’ and turn up to find I’ve got whatever the American equivalent of a Vauxhall Cascada!
