Couldn't find anything recent in the searches so asking here

Have in a week in the Weymouth area in August so after some ideas

I know it will be heaving with Grockles (us included!) but any tips on interesting places to go to. We have kids of 10 and 12 plus the dog.

Nothe Fort looks like a possibility as dogs are welcome - worth a look?

Probably take a wander around Portland as well

It looks like there's a few beaches which are dog friendly too - is that right? Anyone tell me which ones?

Thanks Chaps - some good ideas in there

stayed in Lulworth and did Durdle door last year so probably staying west of there this time.

Little Bredy looks nice, dorchester a good option too as it looks like a few things there of interest - the kids would like the Tutankhamun museum.

I think the boy would like Bovington although we were driving tanks a few weeks ago so may feel a little static unless they let us loose in one hehe I suspect the daughter may get bored though.

Rossi's is on the list now thanks! What's the best fish and chippy in the area?

I've worked out the beaches now that Monty can go on - looks like its Bowleaze cove, abbotsbury or round to Church ope Cove on Portland.

Have you booked this holiday and not put any thought into what you are going to do there? People never fail to baffle me sometimes.

Tank Museum
Kimmeridge
Lulworth Cove
Swanage Pier
Portland Bill
Chesil beach
Monkey World

Sure there will be other stuff,m but I have done all of the above adult and child and enjoyed it.
Of course not - what makes you think that?

We’ve booked a couple of things for us already - simply asking from those that know whether there is anything else worth looking at.

There’s a lot of stuff mentioned that I hadn’t found though google etc

Still after a recommendation for the best fish and chips if anyone can help?

Trip on the paddle steamer, which is surprisingly spritely for an old thing. A nice evening run would be lovely.

That sounds like a great plan - thanks

Fish and chips from King Edwards on the seafront.
Looks good - how was it? The missus is very particular about the quality of her fish and chips.

However, the town itself is the pitts, full of druggies, teenage mums & is just the epitome of the worst of the UK. Stay away & the rest of the area is lovely.
Exactly the sort of info I need - thanks.

Surprised no one has mentioned the Castletown D - Day on Portland. Only small, but fully interactive! You can climb in the tank and play with the machine gun on the jeep. Kids love it.

Fab! I hadn't found that. The boy will love that.
