Providing there's no strict lockdown imposed in the next few days, I'm heading up to the Isle of Skye by way of Glasgow next week. Anyone got any tips for "must do/see/eat" type things up there at all?

Cheers. We've booked a few meals already and I'll see what the craic is with distillery tours.

just done a tour of scotland including the isle of skye, in my vw campervan, portree, the capital is lovely, also went further north to uig via a lovely drive over the mountains with breathtaking scenery on the approach to uig, if you want to take that route, then then drive up to staffin and then take the 1st left after the general store shop/small fuel station, well worth the drive.

Thanks, we're staying in Uig (providing Sturgeon doesn't lock the country down today) so looking forward to the drive. Hopefully a chance to get a few nice pics of the car against some great backdrops!

Yep, we've now cancelled everything we had booked. That's the fourth time this year we've had a holiday booked and had to pull the plug. Gutted.

They can but we'd planned a few days of activities with meals around 7:30/8:00 then we could get back to the hotel for ~10pm.

The idea of heading straight back to the hotel as darkness falls, eating form the same menu repeatedly and being "trapped" there all night didn't appeal so we've booked some other stuff closer to home (which may still end up being canceled depending on any new restrictions!).

Definitely heading to Skye when things are more normal though.

Those views and the hiking are the reasons we want to go and we'll definitely get there when things are back to normal.

We managed to get a couple of days on the Yorkshire coast and a Peak District Spa break/hike last week so still a great break from work!
