Olympics DLR Car Parking

Has anyone got any good suggestions for parking up and getting to the Olympic park?
I was thinking of parking at a DLR station at the end of the line - maybe woolwich arsenal or lewisham.
I have no experience of these stations, is this a good idea, will I be able to park a car there? Need to be at the Olympic village for 8.00am on a Tuesday.
Any other ideas for getting over there, i will be coming from the Midlands?

Park and Ride services, serving the Olympic Park. Going to Amersham means you have to cross London at rush hour and you'll be susceptible to interchanges and at the mercy of about 4 different lines.
