Brands that scream CHAV

Personally i don't think any chav would spend £40 on a T shirt the same as they don't buy Super Dry. Sports Direct is definitly the way forward for chav wardrobes.
That's exactly what they do - they are status symbols, same as gold rings and necklaces. The majority of the diffusion labels of the Armani brand are aimed squarely at chavs. No different to Burberry and Stone Island.
Bonkers

Yes it starting to be a chav brand.
It always has been! The problem with threads like this is it's always down to personal opinion and the fact that the term 'chav' is generally used to mean something the poster doesn't like rather than it actually being chav.

I'm pointing out your total ignorance about the brand, which really does highlight my example.
It was once a low key brand (despite the product that they sell) but has over the last 6 years had the arse totally and utterly ripped out of it.
I couldn't give a stuff about the merchandise, handbags and denim miniskirts with I*heart*PB on them aren't my thing.

Louis Vuitton Malletier was a classy brand but now has been slightly damaged by the WAG's the same as Jimmy Choo!
Slightly? They're the most faked leather goods brand in the world!
It's got nothing to do with WAGs, despite the fact you see more Channel hanging of their arms than LV (which is cheap in comparison).
Yes?

I'm sure Superdry and Hollister make some nice clothes that aren't so heavily branded (although I have no evidence of it) but I just don't see the point in paying way over the odds for a simple cotton t-shirt that's just a big brand from neckline to waistline and armpit to armpit.
Doesn't make them "chav" though - fair enough if you don't like them, or how the shops are run, but that's a different thing entirely. sleep envy said:

Because you googled Chav and that was the first picture?
No, because they are what chav means. I don't care if people think it's "evolved", it hasn't; that pic is a picture of chavs.Chav is absolutely and demonstrably NOT, and never will be, what at least half of the posts on here think it means.
It doesn't mean "tasteless", it doesn't mean BMW.
HTH.
The stereotype of a chav includes wearing branded designer sportswear.[10] Stereotypical attire might be accompanied by some form of gold jewellery otherwise termed 'bling'.[11]
In a case where a teenage woman was barred from her own home under the terms of an Anti-Social Behaviour Order in 2005, some British national newspapers branded her "the real-life Vicky Pollard" with the Daily Star running headlines reading "Good riddance to chav scum: real life Vicky Pollard evicted". [12] A 2006 survey by YouGov suggested 70% of TV industry professionals believed that Vicky Pollard was an accurate reflection of white working-class youth.[9]

Anything from Sports Soccer or Sports Direct..I.e. Cheap trackies, trainers, jumpers that mismatch and are a bit baggy...this was the original meaning of Chav.
Superdry, Gap, Hollister, Abercrombie, G Star etc are not Chav...what else are kids and teens meant to wear....goth or emo gear or Clarkson style jeans and a T?
