Night out in Manchester, where to go?
Discussion
Having a night out in Manchester in a couple of weeks (Saturday night) and wanted to know where is good to go?
Some decent bars with nice people in and clubs?
We are into house music (Funky house, tech house, etc).
I went to Manchester years ago and think we did the bars on Deansgate(whitworth road?) is that still the place to be?
Any help much appreciated
Thanks

You guys sound like you've not had a great experience which is a shame.
Manchester is one of the best cities in England for a night out but you need to know where to go, just like anywhere else.
OP, there are a few areas to head to:
Spinningfields: upmarket trendy cocktail bars and restaurants. Australasia is one of my favourites but The Alchemist is also decent as is Oast House. Also head to Cloud 23 at the Hilton on Deansgate for a superb view of the city from the 23rd floor.
Northern Quarter: quite a spread out area and quite hipster-ish if you know what I mean. Head to Bluu bar and then wander round from there for the bars. More of a chilled out vibe around here.
Deansgate Locks: down at the bottom of Deansgate and has about 6 large bars all in a row under some arches. Revolution type bars, very busy, cheesy music, more of a younger crowd.
Other bars to check out: Alberts Schloss and Revolucion de Cuba on Peter Street. Epernay is also quite good near there. Corbieres has the best dukebox in town. Bock Biere Cafe has a great selection of beers.
Enjoy
Thank you, really appreciate it, nothing worse going out in a new place and wasting time finding a decent place.Manchester is one of the best cities in England for a night out but you need to know where to go, just like anywhere else.

Manchester is an absolutley great night out. Liverpool doesn't compare.
I totally agree with what Nezquick has said.
My favourite place at the moment is Albert Schloss.
Northern quarter is good, as is Spinningfields.
Deansgate Locks has gone downhill a bit, and is where all the youngsters go. I wouldn't bother tbh.

Ha ha, some mixed feelings about Manchester!
I live in Birmingham and its great for a night out but fancied a change of scenery.
Birmingham has quite a few good places all within a 10 minute walk from each other like the Mailbox
Brindley place
Arcadian
Summer Row
Rainbow Venues
If you've never been to Brum its a good night, I just fancy a change.
