Pistonheads runners:

I'm off to Switzerland for the 25th annual Jungfrau Mararhon in Switzerland.

The race itself is on September 9th, but it's a perfect excuse for a run out into the Alps, so I'll be driving over a few days before.

Is there anyone here who is running the race and driving over?

Hi, I live out here, about an hour from there. I am not running it, Though considered it early in the year, but its super tough and I don't have the altitude training you probable need.

Are you *just* doing the Marathon or the Ultra ?
I'm 'only' doing the marathon, though it will be tough. I'm located in the UK, so altitude training is difficult or impossible...

I think the entry is now closed, so you'll be lucky to get a drop-out ticket if you really wanted to run it.

I guess, with my current training, I'd be happy with a sub 6 hr run (I'm a little bit bigger and slower than the average runner).

Might be worth posting on the Swiss section of the forum. It's not that active, but I think the regulars keep an eye on new posts. Depending where you are staying I may be persuaded to have a drive out after work one evening.
I'm not staying anywhere yet! I've not booked any ferry over, or any accommodation.

I'll probably be camping to cut down on the costs, though if the weather is bad I'll look at cheap hotel / motel / B&B.

Hopefully, all being well, I'll be in my Cerbera (I pick it up on Friday this week), so if you do fancy a run somewhere, I'd be more than happy!
