I don't know what made me think of this, but I was musing recently about whether the 10-15 year old schoolboy me would approve of the adult me? Whether I've turned into the sort of chap that I hoped to be, and lived the life I'd hoped for as a child in other words.

I'm not rich (or powerfully built) but I've got a fairly nice car (always important to childhood me) travelled a bit (something childhood me would never have considered being in his future only because we didn't back then, but I think he'd find that pretty cool).

I think childhood me would be pleased with the job I've (eventually) got lined up for his future too and would like my son (now older than childhood me).

His future love life is going to be a bit up and down but no nasty divorces await him (largely by dint of never getting married - not something childhood me held in any kind of priority).

So all in all, I think I could go back nearly 40 (gulp!) years and tell him what's coming without him feeling like I'd sold out or cocked it up too much for him. And I think he'd have liked me as a person.

You?

What a strange thing to type on a car forum.
I'm guessing it was an attempt at humour...
