I'm shorter than the average male, not massively but nonetheless shorter.
To my knowledge, it's not held me back in life although I have to admit, it's probably dented my confidence on occasions.
In this age of political correctness, why is it acceptable to insult people who are short?
Almost every time a female is interviewed on a TV dating show (my wife watches them) they say they don't like short men.
They'd get lynched if they said anything about race, religion, weight or disability
Tell me I'm being paranoid shortarse and this is just short man syndrome.

You need to stop watching TV dating shows if they wind you up.
Someone should be allowed to say they don't like black/white/skinny/fat people. What's wrong with that? You aren't actually saying nasty. Likewise, someone should be allowed to say they don't like short or tall people.
Exactly, but they're not allowed. Only shortSomeone should be allowed to say they don't like black/white/skinny/fat people. What's wrong with that? You aren't actually saying nasty. Likewise, someone should be allowed to say they don't like short or tall people.
My height has never been a problem for me and I've never had trouble getting girlfriends, even taller ones.
Success in life isn't gauged by height.
TBH, it probably says more about the women on the dating shows - the fact that they are looking for a certain type. it might explain why they're single.
Height, race, disability, etc.,all of which can't be changed, all of which shouldn't be discriminated against.
Sock colour, shoe size - you know what they say

It does seem that height is something people have no qualms in making fun of. That said amongst blokes anything goes really, weight, height, features. We're all b*stards to each other really.
What surprised me was a Facebook female 'friend' shared a post which said, "What do you call a man under 6ft? Friend" which I thought was pretty harsh. Mainly as if a bloke had shared something referencing a woman's weight, boobs etc they'd have been hunted down!
