Seeing my first colour tele at my mate's house. His parents had bought it for the first colour televised Wimbledon tennis.

I'll never forget seeing the green of centre court for the very first time. They'd turned the colour knob (remember knobs on tv's?) up to the max.

I remember, pre-central heating, waking up to ice on the inside of the bedroom window.

The early storage heaters. Huge, grey metal boxes filled with bricks and giving off negligible heat. Mum used to drape our school uniforms on them in an attempt to warm them up for us.
