Black Friday 2018
Discussion
Hi all...
Looking at buying some new kit for the house this time round, Sonos, alexa and tv's are on the list (plus anything else that seems too cheap to ignore!)
i've done well in the past, Free 43" UHD smart tv signing up for sky, 2 x play:1's for £139 each etc so keen to replicate this year.
I understand we are around a month away but if we could share deals and links here that'd be great!
Any whispers ?

Probably the same as every year.....ie nothing worth having will be discounted and they'll sell off old stock that no one wants at slightly less than normal in the frenzy black Friday seems to cause, where people simply MUST buy something in order to feel they've had a 'bargain' that they can tell all their mates about.
the play 1's were a great saving for me, 2x play:1's when they were £179 each - getting them for under £300 for 2 was amazing!LordGrover said:

Perhaps BND would suit you better?the mirror said:
This year, Amazon has taken Black Friday to a whole new level, offering massive discounts from mid-November until the end of November. Find the biggest bargains on almost any item you can think of, including games consoles, TVs and laptops. The offers are changing frequently, so be sure to snap up that deal before it is gone!
Hopefully a chance to get a few more echo dots for around the place El stovey said:

Echo dots are always massively reduced. They’re the gateway to get you into the amazon universe. That’s what happened to me anyway.
feel your pain brother... they work fantastic with the rest of the kit, nest, sonos, bmw connected, and the smart plugs.. its just effortless.
Alexa, ask my bmw what the electric range is....

My telly went on the blink the other day, kept restarting when watching terrestrial TV, though fine watching Netflix, Amazon, iPlayer, etc. Guessed it was the tuner on the fritz. Decided to hold off until Black Friday to replace it - and miraculously it's working fine again now.
If Black Friday wasn't around the corner, I'd've popped into Richer Sounds and bought one immediately - so in a way Black Friday has 'saved' me a new TV.
To be fair, I recommend you get a new TV anyway. Just to be safe.If Black Friday wasn't around the corner, I'd've popped into Richer Sounds and bought one immediately - so in a way Black Friday has 'saved' me a new TV.
Samsung do a nice 82” QLED
two years ago when we were feeling flush these are the black Friday deals we had..
- paid £139 each for the Sonos play:1 when they were retailing at £179 the rest of the year.
- got a free 43" UHD Smart tv for signing up to sky q
- paid £299 for a sonos:connect - these are usually £399
I get a lot of stuff is inflated but like the £19.99 echo dots (previous gen) and even the current generation ones are £39.99 at the mo, along with £30 fire tablets i think its a great time to buy!

It is an Americanism we don’t need
I don't care what its roots were - there are bargains to be had.We need a new TV and some additional sonos units - if i can get them cheaper than usual just because of a random sale day - i'll take that
People get scammed on computers all the time, does that mean we should just ban computers?
how about the ones in the know just benefit from it and let the rest of them get suckered in or whatever.. ?
Ended up biting the bullet and buying the tv at full price (well, they said it was £500 off, but it's been like that from before BF)
arriving today...
65" Samsung QLED and a 'no gap' wall mount bracket. didn't get much change out of £2k - Still, we don't buy TVs that often..
The last tv we bought was in 2008 - Panasonic 47" 1080 Plasma - it's never put a foot wrong but felt it just looked dated now with its 1 inch bezel and non-smart functions.
Plus, the heat it created was enough to warm a small village, a nightmare in the summer. #FirstWorldProblems
