I was at Lidl doing the veg shop and whilst in put one of those rechargeable LED torches in the basket (great item)! along with the veg and went to pay.

Given the high speed checkout the norm is to unload trolly and then put it back in after the checkout and move to the side and pack it into bags etc.

I did this and went packing up I noticed the torch at the bottom, under a bag Id brought in with me and I hadnt taken it out of the trolley at the checkout stage and therefore not paid.

I looked back at the checkout and there was a fk off queue that Id have to rejoin so I kept on packing the bags and left - feeling awful but strangely giddy at the thought of 'nicking' this £10.00 item.

I got home and Ive been feeling guilty ever since and feel I should go back and pay, saying I only realised when I got home.

Anyone else guilty of any theft activities?

Just to add - no reason for me stealing it - financially fine etc - it was just a weird thrill of the moment that I knew was wrong but I still went ahead for some reason and now I feel st about it

I have gone BACK to Tesco with the product I've failed to pay for and asked to pay for it.

They looked at me like I was an idiot. But it's the way I was bought up.

Honesty is most important.
If I'm over paid in change I point it out.
You shop at Tesco!!??

Urrrggghh laughlaugh
