Mrs 111R went for a nice white Italian leather corner sofa for our new house. It was about £6k and I don't like it. It looks nice but it's just too soft and not really well shaped for watching TV.

Our old one, that cost about £2k is still in the other room and it it's just a nicer place to sit. Bit gutted and I'll have to suck it up for a few years at least but what have you paid a lot for that you just don't like/regretted?

Just remembered another one. I had a Lotus Evora which was stunning but online I'd seen an exhaust that sounded awesome in the US so I took my car to a specialist to have them make one up. On the way I followed Mrs 111R who was driving it and remember listening to it and thinking 'That sounds pretty good as it is, it's probably the soundproofing that makes me think it's not very loud.'

The design was effectively a straight and very short pipe so....

I went to pick it up and they started the car and I thought, instantly, 'That's coming off!'. It was SO loud. To save face I said it was great. They said the only thing louder had been a decatted Diablo. When they ran it up the trading estate to test it EVERYONE came out!

Driving to work in the morning was misery and a few weeks later it swapped it back. Goodbye £550!

An MX5 mk3.75

Looked great, but just never bonded with it and genuinely can’t see what the fuss is about. So slow.

Kept if about six months and replaced it with a 595 Competizione which was so much more fun.
Similar. We have the current shape one, it has soft rolly suspension that then firms up which means in corners it rolls a lot and then settles but that initial roll is very disconcerting. God knows why journo's think it has good handling. Its slow, you sit on it rather than in it and it has the worst ICE/software I've ever encountered. It's lane departure warning system can't be turned off forcing you to indicate for every lane change even if there's no need too. Looks lovely but as soon as lockdown is over it's going!

I have an R26 and it's a thousands times nicer to drive.

If you don’t have the sport model, it does roll a bit but not excessively.

Do you have the 1.5, I’ve got the 2019 MY 2.0, about 185 bhp it’s certainly not slow, although unlike the 160 bhp one I had previously the power comes in at higher revs, so compared to previous I need to drop a cog to get the power, but there is more of it.

I don’t have the lane departure on my current one, previous did and you could turn down the frequency of warnings, or turn it off by pressing the button.
Its the Sport Recaro but the 2.0 160bhp one.

You can turn down LD warning to a low rumble but it cannot be turned off annoyingly.
