Folks, does anyone know of an airgun dealer in this area (pref heading from Maidenhead towards Camberley type of route) that has a good stock of air rifles and is good for advice? I've found one place (sheephouse - are they any good there?) but was wondering if that was it? Alternatively somewhere around farnborough open past 6pm!

Dave

p.s. google also throws up AEClarke in blackwater but they are only open business hours which is when I'm in maidenhead!

Are they a shop per se or just a licenced dealer (if the latter then assume they would, for a charge, be able to receive a mail order air rifle?)

Hmmm, having perused the interweb and various airgun magazines I think I'm going to shop around a bit for a decent second hand jobby.

Any ideas what I'd get for 250-300 needs to have a decent (as in not pants) scope, silencer and ideally be multishot/co2 cart (though the latter may be a pipe dream at this price!)

"Cheapest but still good"

Weihrauch HW100. Simple! It's one of the very best out there without delving into the £1000 realms of higher end Daystates, Steyr's etc. For that you are looking at £700 for the rifle, £150 for scope and mounts (let's say an MTC fixed mag Viper) and then £200 for a 12L bottle and filling kit. Done smile That would be an outfit that you could use for pretty much anything aside from FT (the scope won't cut it, but the rifle could)

Actually (and I can't believe I'm saying this) if you are determined to go PCP, then any of the cheaper Air Arms stuff is really quite good. Grab a copy of 'Air Gunner' or similar and see what takes your fancy - then head over to the airgunbbs sales section.
There have been a few HW100's go on airgunbbs for ~500 quid recently. £300 will get an ok-ish S410 or a reasonable S400 with scope. Problem with the OP's budget is it doesn't cover any filling kit.
Re filling kit, yes.... managed to miss that one! How many shots do you get per fill? and is it wholly impractical to get refills done at the shop or must you have a pump or bottle?

Back to the topic smile

Went to Surrey guns and ended up with a BSA Ultra multishot .177 with a Nikko Stirling Mountmaster 3-9 x 40, 3ltr refill bottle, pellets, targets etc etc.

Very helpful there (and at Fultons too)

Thanks all.

Dave

(now feeling the need to buy more bits for it.....)

Well done smile

And don't think it ever stops at one... smile
Actually quite liked the look of some of the antique guns at fultons....

And yes will obviously need at least one spare, and a bipod, and a better scope, and some knock down targets.
