Mysterious unopened safe!

I was given it by someone who I am no longer in contact with. He had had it a couple of years in the same locked condition. He never told me where it came from.

I was talking to someone in the pub last night who'd cut one open a few years ago.

(Not sure of the circumstances!)

He said it was hard work, sand sandwiched between layers of steel.
