The Game- please explain

I understand the rules, that if you think about "The Game", you lose. You can never win. The longer you avoid thinking about "The Game", the better you are.

But why on earth would you play such a stupid game?

I do not see the attraction to it whatsoever and some people can get quite worked up about losing. But how on earth can you lose if there is no winner? As far as i think, if you do not win, you lose.

I really don't understand the concept....

Because you know the rules.

I know the rules of "Chicken" and "Bogies!" too, but i dont play them all of the time.

Chicken i know but "Bogies" err whats that one?.

In a quiet place like in a library, on a quiet coach on the train, in a lecture theatre, or somewhere else where elderly, orderly quiet people should be. (you need a minimum of 2 players, but 3-5 is best) positioned in different places. You say "bogies!" starting off quietly, taking it in turns untill you reach screaming point, or whoever is the last one remaining.

I'm guessing thats because the other participants are being beaten to death by the other people who arn't playing?..

No, ussually people chicken out at some point when either people look over with their angry faces or a gaurd/librarian tells you off.
