Sudden Death & PM/Autopsy/Coroner
Discussion
Has anyone had any experience of this please?
Dad died of a Heart Attack on 14/9, as he was DoA we were told he had to go through a Post Mortem and the Coroner
2 weeks later and they haven't released him yet, which means that everything remains in limbo as we can't do anything without the DC
It wasn't his first HA, it was his 7th/8th, he's had angioplasty and he had a pacemaker & Alzheimer’s
Can anyone please advise how long we should be waiting for this to complete, we want to put our Dad to rest?

So sorry to hear about your dad.
I know its not much help but my 31 year old cousin died early last week suddenly. Paramedics spent an hour working on her to no avail, my uncle and autnie have been told that they to have to wait for a post mortem examine and then wait for it to be signed of by the coroner, have been told it will be at least 2 weeks if not 3 due to a back log of "work". So I wouldn't worry too much as it seems to be normal....ish.
Thank you, he was 81 and it was a blessing; unlike your poor Cousin! I'm so sorry for your loss.I know its not much help but my 31 year old cousin died early last week suddenly. Thank you and thank you! I'm so sorry that you know so much about this
It's waiting for the PM that's causing the problems.
Coroner has said this afternoon that Dad is on his way to them, and they will try to release him by Thursday, so we can have the funeral next week (the FD booked a slot )
Fingers crossed please
