Do you even supplement, bro'?
Discussion
While lemmingjames ponders making his own, where are you on the supplement spectrum?
Do you rely simply on what 'God gave you', or is your cupboard awash with big, plastic containers?
Often people rave about whey x or amino acid y, when they haven't, in fact, tried very many in order to differentiate between products and brands. So pinches of salt all round.
But with so many single and combination supplement products on the market, I'm still interested in how you have developed your intake of various products and seen genuine success with before, during and after type products.
So... just chat away!

Now, almost three and a half years in, I just have standard whey and casein protein powders, fish oil capsules and a multi-vit. My pre-workout is simply including whole milk and a banana (rather than just water) in with my whey protein shake.
I read... on the internet, so I'm sharing a third party statement, not my own - that mixing whey protein shakes with milk (rather than water) is a bad idea as the sudden dosage of protein can be stressful for some organ or other (dunno, can't remember now).I used to mix mine with skimmed milk, in the belief that it would taste nasty with water, but have since switched to water and it's fine.

My daily macros recently, no supps involved.
Only supplement I do take is a preworkout called predominate which is a performance booster rather than stim.
How many calories did you eat that day?

Can i assume the Granade / Carb Killa protein bars are in fact entirely full of sugar and horrendous for you given they taste so good? The ingredients on the face of it don't look that bad.... (sticking on tin hat).
IIRC, the Grenade ones are reasonably unique in their low sugar content. You're right to be wary though, a lot of protein bars marketed at people training have some horrendous ingredients.I've tried many and various supplements over the years; not sure to what extent they have or haven't helped.
About six weeks ago, I took a step-change though and have seen clear results. My PT and I refer to it as the 'full fuelling' approach.
Mondays, my session is at 11.30.
At 10.30, I have a protein shake (Bulk Powder's diet whey) which has 40g of protein, together with a couple of rye Ryvita with a smear of 100% peanut butter on. This gives me a protein lead, balanced fuel ahead of the session.
After the session, I have another protein shake (Bulk Powder's Aftermath product - which has creatine, BCAAs etc), which carries another 40g shot of protein, and I 'dissolve' an Oatibix in it. This makes it, simultaneously, post-workout and lunch.
Two things have happened. My lift strength has seen significant week on week gains - added 25kg to my bench press 1RM, for example - and DOMS has been massively reduced, often to the point of not having any.
No idea if there's any broscience behind it, but it the before and after approach has certainly been a successful combination for me.
