Running through some woods on saturday I slipped in a muddy patch and fell onto a tree stump. This caught me on the lower ribs at the back and knocked the wind right out of me. I couldn't move for about a minute and then had to walk about a mile back home.
The pain wasn't too bad that night but next morning it was excruciating and it took me about 10 minutes to get out of bed. My wife took me to the minor injuries unit where I saw a nurse who said they don't X- Ray rib injuries and the only cure is time.
Now on Monday the pain is worse and every movement almost makes me yelp.
Anyone else had cracked ribs who can give some insight into how long recovery will be ?

I suppose I knew that, just wanted to share my pain and hear about other's experiences.
Just shows how suddenly these things can happen, one moment your'e running along quite happily, the next your on the deck, in agony.
