Anyone else suffer from this horrible affliction?
I have had episodes from my twenties onward ( now 69 ) and they seem to be getting more severe the older I get.
The symptoms include bloating, cramping pains in my abdomen and constant farting which is really embarrassing !
Last year the doc. referred me to hospital for a colonoscopy which showed nothing untoward.
I may go months without an episode then suddenly, out of the blue the symptoms return usually lasting from a couple of days to a couple of weeks.
As far as I know, I do nothing different or eat anything different before an episode so am at a loss as to what brings on these attacks.
Should mention my diet, which is vegetarian ( not vegan ). Believe it or not I have never eaten meat or fish in my life, but that's another story.
Anyone have any advice on how I can avoid these attacks, or failing that how I can reduce the severity of the symptoms ?
Would really appreciate any help.
