Serious thread please!

Just don't know whether to go for it or not- and which clinic to choose... All promise the earth of course.

I'm based up North now- anyone got any advice?

Cheers mate! Looks great!

Why go to Turkey out of interest?

Thanks for all the info.

I've been advised to take propecia for 6-8 months before this UK clinic will consider a transplant. As per a previous comment, I'm worried about the effects on the manhood.....

As per everything on the internet, I've read anything for it affecting less than 1% of men to reading stories of permanent damage...... Who's right?? Who knows!

Let me guess, they’ll sell you a subscription to the drug for only £50 a month
To be fair to them they've advised I go to Boots or equivalent to get it. They've just told me the without Propecia I'll just lose the untransplanted hair over the next 10 years.... Propecia apparently makes your hair thicker etc.....

Finding a good UK clinic is the tricky bit- as travelling abroad is off the cards for a while me thinks!

The main issue with me is I'm 37 but genuinely look about 20.

I have shaved my head- at the beginning of the lockdown and it really doesn't look nice. I don't look like Jason Statham- I just look like a yob.

I’m confused. You’re 37 but look 20....and you want a hair transplant?
Yep. Baby faced but with slightly better hair than Prince William.

That's another point- can't grow serious stubble. Well can moustache and goatee but none on cheeks..... Proper baby faced!

I'll be going ahead with a hair transplant with a Harley St Clinic in mid July. Just want my hair back!

My choice mate. Not precious about much but hair matters imo... I really don't suit the bald look.

Makes no sense.

In your pics, you had a baby in background. So assuming you are in a relationship?

So you aren't dating and so dont have the pressure of needing to look good to attract someone.
I really don't get that bit- so because I am in a relationship it means I can forget about my looks at how it makes me feel? I still like to be able to style my hair- not just for the other half- but just for everyday life. Just makes me feel better, simple really!

Central London., so will be at the highest end of price range.
You'd be surprised. I'm in Leeds and reputable clinics in Manchester and Leeds quoted slightly more.

I went with the Harley Clinic has it really has the best reputation and all the right accreditations....

Do you think you will be happy with one op? Or are you expecting to have another one, or two.
I'm about to hit 37 years old- I've done 80% of the shedding I'm likely to have. I think I'll accept that in 10 years time I've lost 20% more hair... The main thing is that my hairline will still look good...

I really don't mind lighter density anywhere else.

Had my surgery done Monday and Tuesday.

Must admit it wasn't massively pleasant- it was long, at times uncomfortable but I was happy to think it would all be worth it in the end.

And it will- now I have to wait up to 12 months for the result!

Here are a few pics. Beware some of these are gruesome.

what does the bit where they took the hair from look like ? will that bit be bald now?
Technically yes but each hair extracted will be left by the tiniest white dot. When my hair grows back it'll be totally invisible.

And 1 week on.

It’s been extremely itchy, I’ve bruised heavily and had migraine like headaches for 2 days but finally today has been a better day.

Now is the time I can look forward to the results. Long wait it will be but looking forward to the next few months!

What was the surgeon's name?
Dr Vida at the Harley Street Hair Clinic

Really nice bloke and obviously passionate about the job. I no doubt paid a premium for the procedure but for something as important and prominent as my hair I really didn't want to take any chances.
