hives, bumps from tonic water

I have finally through a process of elimination found out what is/was causing random hive like bumps on my skin,
Its tonic water.
Ive had G&T s before and used to drink quite alot of it a few years ago and never had any issues.
have random G&Ts through the year and a few weeks ago bumps came up and didnt know where from.
but last night i had 2 G&Ts and sure enough later on bumps appeared. then pretty much gone in the morning.
to test it out tonight iv'e just had 2 tonics and they have appeared again.
usually on the neck and arms but theres a couple on my legs too at the back. and i can feel them on the back/side of my head through my hair,
How is this a thing?
anyone else get it?

Havnt had gin or tonic since I first posted this topic.
Had 3 vodka lemonades last night and pizza (Sunday is my friday) and that was it. There's alot around the back of my neck to the side and just below the hairline too.
Also it can't be either of what I ate or drank as had them in past years and no issues... got a doc phoning me tonight through my work scheme as local doc can't even phone consult until next week...
