Just how stupid does this make the FA look?
Swear down the camera, bad lad, miss three games.
Kick your opponent entirely deliberately, we'll appeal a three game ban as unfair.
Not to mention it gives Rooney the idea that it's an entirely acceptable thing to do whenever things aren't quite going his way.

Did swearing down the camera?The problem is the FA have made themselves look inconsistent and totally out of touch - how can they uphold a 3 match ban for violent conduct in the future?
Being cynical, if it had been a junior member of the England squad, perhaps someone with a few less sponsorship deals and not plastered over every billboard as a poster boy for the FA and for the tournament, do you think they would have had the ban reduced?
