Well, this year could be the big one for us! bounce

It all kicks off today, there's a lot of expectation this year, which I hope for once we can cope with.

Injuries have already started like an epidemic - our first signing of the summer is now our first injury, as well as Matt the Glass Goalkeeper missing ANOTHER season, and now rumours of Kightly out for 3-4 weeks with a twisted ankle. grumpy

At least the takeover is sorted now, and we can get on with some football. Wolves 2-1 Watford, Olofinjana to score first. biggrin

Nice to get that winning feeling back...
Yes, the relegation must be a distant memory now. Enjoy going to Burnley, it's SO much better than the Premiership as we all know. wink

I'm off to Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday. Waterwings packed just in case. biggrin

Thank Christ for that! yikes

Respect to Blackpool, they really ran at us for that game. We were bloody lucky today.

For the second time this season, thank Christ for that!

If we can play like that all season, we'll be in with a chance.

Elekobi out for the season.

Permission to say "cock".

haven't we bought about three defenders though?
Yep, I've not seen a couple of them though - having seen Elekobi a few times, he's going to be a big miss.
Agreed, Ewok has left some big shoes to fill. Glad to see we got a replacement as well as cover though, luckily the transfer window was still open.

In better news, Matt Murray has returned to training - oh, what to do with all these top class keepers? rolleyesbiggrin

another good result for the lads today. Vokes looks a very classy signing. I reckon the brum game is going to be even bigger than usual
Not to mention the Preston game next Saturday.

It's going alright so far, ain't it? biggrin

We're the featured game on Championship Goals on Sunday, apparently. Trouble is I know what always happens when they do that... headache

Been to any matches this season yet mate?
Not yet unfortunately, went to the Blackburn friendly and that's it so far. Wolves finally come to the North West on Saturday, which doesn't happen in this division too often, and the feckers have made it all-ticket! I can't go now! banghead

Well, that was a fun-filled afternoon!

Iwelumo scores overhead kick.
Iwelumo scores again.
Wwelumo scores penalty.
Due to said penalty, Iwelumo scores hat-trick.
Iwelumo gets sent off for saying hello to Preston player in the traditional Scottish fashion.
Hennessey gets sent off and Shackell, in his second appearance for Wolves, has to go in goal.
Woles win 3-1, Brum lose to Blackpool and we go 3 points clear at the top of the table.

Well bks anyway. grumpy

Seriously though, we were missing so many players yesterday it was unreal. Also we were all over the place tactically and had no shape.

Thankfully we have an international break to allow us to regroup. Kightly and SEB are both expected to be fit in time for the Coventry game, Iwelumo has finished his suspension, and we have plenty of options at the back, as Craddock and Hill surely must be approaching fitness by now. God our physio room must be massive. frown

The only real loss we will still have is Jarvis, but hopefully Carlos Edwards will settle in and provide good cover.

Anyone see Ebanks Blakes goal? Was rather lucky IMO
It's a tough one, I have just watched it again today and he was still off the pitch when the Coventry keeper touched it. If I was a Cov fan I know I wouldn't have been too chuffed with the decision, that's for sure.

Mind you, Iwelumo's disallowed goal was definitely onside, so I still think it ended with the right scoreline.

And then drawing, and that's us 6 points clear. biggrin

I must admit I'm well chuffed with that result against Burnley, they have been playing some very good football lately. Nice to get a clean sheet for a change as well.

I'm sure we're all gutted about the result at Reading (Collins grumpy) but I quite enjoyed this, it's Mick McCarthy's initial reaction in the post-match press conference. NSFW:

Sorry to say but...Wolves will be straight back down again.

They have been up before and know the score, yet what signings have they done over the close season?

The team is nowhere good enough to get a mid season finish at the moment.

Really really hope they get some good players in before the season starts, as the board promised.
Yes, what a terribly low performance with signings. No chance of it getting better when the transfer window actually OPENS on Wednesday... rolleyes
