Taking the morette's off my bugeye WRXD shortly (been on the to-do-list for about a year now!) and putting on some stock bugeye headlights.

Now I don't need to be able to attract all the moths from miles around but what would be a decent set of bulbs to put in just so night driving is a bit more tolerable? The light from the morettes was frankly embarrasing.

Are the standard lights any good with normal bulbs or is it worth spending a bit more on some nightbreakers or similar?

Recommendations welcome... smile

Thanks Scoobie - legal is best, don't do a lot of night driving so will look at the "posh" bulbs.

Had resorted to driving round with the morettes on full beam and the alignment switch set to full load and no one flashed me to say they were too bright. whistle

Looking forward to getting the lights done as prefer stock look - plus think I've got the CEL coming on in 4th gear so hoping the morettes will pay for any work needed!

If you can borrow or buy a cheap handheld OBD code reader, you might be able to save yourself dosh in the long run by identifying the error code(DTC) that's making your CEL come on and potentially fixing it yourself if it's just a sensor, before you go to the trouble and expense of visiting and paying for a Subaru dealer or specialist to diagnose the problem.

If you're not far from me i'd be happy to plug in and take a look if it's any help.
Thanks for the offer Scoobie but as I'm quite a way "dawn sarf" as they say I bought a cheapo bluetooth adapter off of ebay and used it with my phone. Checked and no fault codes stored (had same issue last year which an indy said wasn't showing anything either) - not done it again since happened 3 times in 3 days - always under medium load in 4th between 60-70.

Still, as it's not really impacting on the way it drives seems like it could be a long chase trying to find a cause so will leave it for the mo.

Thanks for offer though!
