As some of you are aware I've been putting up a Garage at my house to house a Project car for 2013.
I did get get sidetracked due to getting a Job Febuary frown well got my 4rse into gear and it's nearly finnished.

I fitted in all the Electrics and a Alarm system. Also fitted a Car alarm with remote locking units to unlock Auto-lock the doors. biggrin

The Prefab concreter garage was either VERY hot or VERY cold. I put up insulation covered it with OSB board. Also fitted 80% Window tints.
I then fitted my Old kitchen cupoards. The wooden handles sprayed yellow and the rest wrapped blue. To finnish the look off some whole car graphic's of fleabay £29. The fidge is also suitably topped up tongue out
The metal work bench thats sprayed Blue as is an old Red tool chest thats fitted into it. Worktops needed to be strong and got some beech solid 40mm block cheap off fleabay. At least now good stong so vice wont fall off

The Floor is red 2 part Resin paint which has sealed the floor ish wink But as you can see I'm going for a PVC floor covering to finish it off.

I think either a blue or yellow floor will be toooo much. Black and white chequer either hard to clean or never find what I've dropped. Any suggestions?

Tony

How about a Gold floor!!! biggrin
Gold with black edging biggrin

Blue would be tooo much and heard black and white looks great but white an arse to keep clean.

I'm going to look at Practical light colours, perhaps light grey and yellow chequer

Very nice Tony - my Scoob probably dreams of living in somewhere so swish! smile

In case you've never seen it, there's a Garage forum that would appreciate your efforts: Garage Journal - Gallery

Also a whole subsection on flooring that you can spend ages going through!

OK, there are some massive US garages on there, but also guys like us with more modest spaces.

Steve
Cheers steve that a cracking site biggrin

Very nice, you've got everything you need in one place so no need to even see the missus until bed time.

Real man +10

Now for the boring bits. I assume you needed planning permission for that. Also it looks prefab may I ask where you purchased it from and a rough approximate cost?

I only ask because I'm getting closer to buying a house now and I'll be looking to do something very similar in the garden.
In the UK you don't need permission just need to comply with planning guidelines IIRC

http://www.planningportal.gov.uk/permission/common...

but if in Scotland it has different rules to UK

I was advised by a friend, whatever you can afford on the Budget Go as wide as you can, then add an extra lenth on wink as you'll always regret not doing it.

Outside diamensions are approx 2.90m x 8.10m. IRRC there are 4 widths are Sizes in Single garage and you can add lenths on in 1.20m or 0.60m sections. look here http://www.nucrete.co.uk/products/apex-concrete-ga...

I bought the Elite version, as had better roof, all windows and guttering are PVC (included in price). it was also lower Apex roof height was 2.40m so complied with Planning rules as if under 2 metres of a boundary . IIRC the standard version was over 100mm too high would have to be over 2m from boundary

I think it cost £3400 delivered and erected. The base + electrics + lights + insulation + paint made it at £5k ish

I used my old kitchen units and £230 on beech block worktops. Another £200 sorted interior on subaru stuff like , Paint, vinyl wrap tool hangers etc off ebay Bay

Tony,

You missed out the space for the dishwasher - which are perfect for cleaning complete engine blocks and other oily parts before painting.

I have to wait until my missus goes out before I use mine at home.
Ha ha,

But that's a thought wink

I'd probably do the floor in yellow background with a massive blue Subaru logo. Just the opposite of what you have on the cupboards.
Every home garage should have a pit.
Yes seen son tiles that would do the same wink

One cool garage but can you actually fit a car in there or manage to get out if you do, looks a tad narrow.
dimensions are approx 10' 8" x 27' so not that bad if keep tight to one side I can fully open a door.
