Other half has a K12 Micra (that we're actually looking to scrap) that has a keyless entry system and the key fell apart a while ago and she lost the blade bit to use in the key hole behind the passenger door handle.

The battery is dead so we can't get into the car, nor can we jump / charge the battery because we can't get into the car to release the bonnet. Any suggestions on how to do this?

As the car is being scrapped (pretty tatty bodywork combined with the notorious K12 timing chain stretch) we're not too precious about smashing up either the front grille or a window to get in but would rather avoid this.

Cheers

Thanks for that. Having had a look at the engine bay on some photos, it may be easier to do this on the alternator instead of the starter, would that work too?

With the help of some research, it looks like the alternator is the way to go. The 1.2 has a small radiator so fingers crossed it looks relatively roomy.

Managed to get this done this afternoon. Took a while to figure out how I was going to get to the alternator but did manage it. Had to peel back the clamps as I was never going to make contact otherwise.

Was a beautiful moment hearing it unlock. Thanks for your help!
