Diagnostic Scanner

Working away more often now is making it harder to fix any issues when they appear. Normally I could pop down to local place & get them to read the codes & I could go away & fix the fault, however not knowing many of the garages around where I am they all want a fee however it makes sense now to get my own diagnostic tool & scan myself.

Question is, which one do I go for? I don't mind paying a decent one if it will read all the codes across different models, mrs has a Mini & I have a Seat at the moment.
