I'm planning to send some calipers off for refurb. I want to block off the brake lines so I don't have the fluid run out over the course of the weeks and months before I refit (it happened to me a few years back, PITA). I'd rather avoid using clamps on the flexis if possible.

I have been able to find bungs/blank bolts that I could screw into the calipers, but I am drawing a blank on a plug for the banjo itself. Anyone found anything that does the job? In theory I suppose I could just put an M10 flanged bolt through with some copper washers and a nut.

Thanks all, I'll do the nut/bolt/washers approach then. Good shout on jamming the brake pedal a bit.

rolleyes Do the pedal thing and you won't need to faff about with nut bolts washers or ptfe tape.
I once narrowly avoided having to bench bleed an ABS block due to a family emergency necessitating me leaving a caliper off for what ended up being a few weeks... I managed to resolve it through an afternoon of doing skids on gravel roads (fun!) and bleeding the brakes repeatedly, (less fun). So for the sake of four copper washers, belt and braces is no bad thing. Once bitten etc thumbup

You can also guarantee that wherever I do it, the car will need to be moved at some point hehe

I ended up doing the 10mm nut and bolt with copper washers and PTFE tape. So far I've had to move the car twice, both times under power, so it was definitely the right decision in my situation.
