Estimated international haulage costs
Discussion
Hi all,
Would anyone be able to give me a ballpark figure please for trucking 2 items, each 6m long x 2.45m wide x 2.5m tall x5 tons, on a flatbed artic from Germany (not sure whereabouts, yet) to Lancashire? Whether I purchase the items depends on the cost of repatriation!
Additionally, will they be ok on a normal flatbed trailer or will they require a low deck trailer to clear the lower continental height limit? (4m IIRC?)
Thanks in advance,
Matt

Hi all, many thanks for the replies and I must apologise for never responding - very rude of me I know especially with such generous offers!
Due to some negotiating, availability of said items and also the vendor wanting the transport stands back afterwards, things have changed somewhat. I'm also at liberty to give some more information.
The new plan is to transport one item, not 2. The item in question is a commercial jet engine, moving from the DHL airfreight hub at Leipzig to Flight Engineering in Leeds, then returning the transport frame (similar dimensions but weight approx 1 tonne and a totally empty middle). Delivery time is unimportant as long as it's cheap!
Im not sure what would be more cost effective method of moving it - filling a rigid truck or trying to fill a half empty artic already doing a similar route?
Suggestions gratefully welcomed!
Thanks,
Matt
